About Us

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Principal of Ortega School and proud member of this extraordinary school community. I have spent my professional career as a teacher, a director of special education, a vice principal, and now I am excited to continue my educational journey as principal of this outstanding school. I am a person who strongly values building relationships and I look forward to cultivating strong bonds with all of our students, families, staff, and community members. I look forward to getting to know all of you and your children as important members of this community which I also call home. 

I will work hard to ensure that Ortega School is an inclusive and positive environment for everyone. I want all of our scholars to feel valued and connected. That feeling of connectedness is key to a happy and successful school climate. 

My door will always be open. I am a lifelong learner and have learned so much from students, parents, and teachers throughout my career. I very much look forward to building new relationships based on communication and trust so everyone knows that I have our children’s best interests at the heart of all of my decisions. I firmly believe that the partnership between home and school helps build confidence in our students to use their skills to shape the future of their local, national, and global communities. I am so excited and proud to be an Ortega Otter.

Mission Statement

Our mission at Ortega Elementary School is to prepare all of our students to lead meaningful lives as knowledgeable, creative, and compassionate participants in our community and beyond. We endeavor to support students with a foundation of incredibly dedicated teachers, staff, and volunteer community, with support from families and caregivers, as we aim to nurture a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child is empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We strive to offer a well-rounded and enhanced curriculum that fosters and supports the academic, social, and emotional development whether in the classroom or at home.
