Ortega School Library

The Ortega School Library embodies the school’s mission of preparing students to lead meaningful, creative, and compassionate lives by offering a rich variety of programs and resources. Students in TK–5 visit the library weekly, where dynamic book displays celebrate cultural heritage, holidays, authors, and popular series. Junior Librarians support parent volunteers, while programs like Lunch Bunch, Family Literacy Nights, and Book Fairs foster a love of reading beyond the classroom. The library also hosts afterschool enrichment activities and features a growing Spanish-language collection within its robust 17,800-book catalog. With its inviting spaces for both independent and group reading, the Ortega Library has become a cherished hub for learning, exploration, and community connection.

Student Hub

Pacifica School District provides students with a variety of digital tools and online resources designed to support learning, creativity, and well-being. Through our Clever Portal, students can easily access educational apps, classroom programs, and enrichment opportunities. In addition to academic tools, this page includes links to important information such as bullying prevention, digital citizenship, and student support services. Together, these resources help every student explore their passions, collaborate with others, and succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

Workplace Violence Prevention Plan

Pacifica School District will not tolerate workplace violence and is committed to maintaining a safe workplace for all employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, contractors, and visitors. The workplace is defined as any time or place where the conduct occurs while on School District business, at a School District-sponsored event, or if the conduct impacts the workplace, regardless of where it occurs.

PE Instruction

Pacifica School District is proud to provide a strong Physical Education (PE) program to all of our students.  In grades 6-8, students receive PE instruction from teachers that are specialists in this area, holding teaching credentials in PE.  In grades 1-5, classroom teachers use State PE standards to plan and coordinate each student’s PE instruction.  

Title IX

Federal Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”), implemented at 34 C.F.R. § 106.31, subd. (a), provides that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any academic, extracurricular, research, occupational training, or other education program or activity operated by a recipient which receives federal financial assistance.  Relevant here, Title IX requires the Pacifica School District to take immediate and appropriate action to investigate when it knows or reasonably should know of a possible Title IX violation.
